Finishing strong in March, the Jesuit golf team prepares to wrap up its season in the end of April and into the beginning of May. Jesuit held the Jesuit Dallas Invitational at Brookhaven Country Club on March 16, which had been rescheduled due to weather.

The JV Gold golf team won the JV division of the Brookhaven event with Andrew Buckley ’18, Jackson Houston ’18, Jake O’Gara ’18, Griffin Till ’18 and Luke Harrison ’18 representing Jesuit. The team shot a total of 315 to win the team title. Representing the Jesuit Blue team, Marcus Ramirez ’18 shot a 73, winning the overall individual title. The Jesuit Gold Varsity team finished fourth in the varsity division, and was led by Chase Fetrow ’16, who shot a 76, placing him in 7th place overall. The Varsity Blue and JV Blue teams finished 3rd at 329 and 8th at 344, respectively.

“Our top five varsity players were unable to play in the Jesuit Dallas Invitational because of the UIL one day of competition per week rule,” says head golf coach Cathy Marino.  Instead those varsity players participated in the Marvin Dameron Invitational held Friday, March 20 at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco, Texas.  The team of Will Peavy ’16, Martin Breedijk ‘17, JC Campbell ’15, Camden Suhy ’16, and Ross Frick ’16 shot a total of 318, finishing in 5th place out of the 16 teams competing for the title. Ross Frick said, “The team did a great job,” and “They did their best to represent Jesuit golf.” Rain forced cancellation of the second round in Waco.
