Jesuit’s JV Gold Basketball team has continued it’s excellent performance from the preseason to district play, winning it’s first six district games by an average margin of 34 points!

The first district opponent the Rangers faced were the Irving Tigers, in which Jesuit delivered a 74-36 beat down. Forward Luke Laufenberg 16′ told me, “We were just simply the more prepared and experienced team, and we played one of our best games yet.” The next team that fell victim to the Rangers were the Nimitz cougars, who were handed a 69-45 defeat.

Jesuit continued it’s success against district rival W.T. White, obliterating the Longhorns 64-27. Guard Mark Ready 17′ stated, “We play at a very fast pace and have a lot of depth on our team, and they just couldn’t keep up with us.” After taking care of business against W.T. White, the Rangers faced the Lions of R.L. Turner and cruised to a 53-23 victory.

The Rangers have shown no sign of slowing down, continuing it’s win streak by beating the MacArthur Generals 68-43. Forward Chase Kirkland 16′ shared that, “The team has really come together since the start of district play, and we want to keep moving forward to get better and better.” The Rangers extended they’re win streak to six games after beating the Sunset Bison 67-17.

Head Coach Tim Murphy told me, “We’ve been working on developing the guy’s skills, working hard in practice, and as a result it’s translated into getting some great wins.”

With the Rangers off to a great start in district play, it will be exciting to see if they can continue their success against a perennial powerhouse, the Skyline Raiders.
