Ah, it’s finally that time of the year again, when Jesuit fans and students will fill up the stands at Postell Stadium and cheer on the Jesuit Rangers. Fortunately, the Rangers football team is looking at a very solid year in a new district and hopes to exceed the already high expectations.

Coming off an impressive 9-4 and first-ever third round playoff appearance, the Rangers look to finish their business and make it even farther this year. The Rangers are also starting the season ranked #75 in the state (according to maxpreps.com), a higher ranking than the majority of their opponents.

Although they will most likely not be exact, these are my predictions for the 2014-2015 Jesuit Rangers football season:

@ Arlington Bowie (8/29)
38-28 Rangers win
Coming off a decent scrimmage against Wiley, the Rangers will take on the #99 ranked Bowie Volunteers. The rust in the Rangers new defensive approach (zone package) will be shaken off and the Rangers defense will step up and allow Bowie’s statistically successful offense to only 28 points behind run-stopper newcomer Ryan Brooks ’16. In Bo Schneider’s first regular season game after a successful 2013-2014 season, he will prove that experience trumps all else and lead the Rangers to a solid 1-0 start.

Plano East (9/5)
56-51 Rangers win
Despite Plano East’s impressive linebacker/defensive end Landis Durham returning, Jesuit’s high powered offense, led by Schneider and captain Garrett Amy, will overpower the Panthers to get the Rangers off to a 2-0 start going into the Strake game.

@ Strake Jesuit (9/12)
63-14 Rangers win
Over the past several years, Jesuit has dominated Strake in this matchup, and to me, this game will be no different.

Sunset (9/26)
42-20 Rangers win
Coming off a 3-0 start, the Rangers will open up district play with an all around solid win vs. a team that Jesuit has had good results against in the past.

@Skyline (10/03)
49-45 Skyline win
Despite coming into the game at 4-0 the Rangers will fall short to a football-dominant school, but will hang with them the whole game.

Irving (10/10)
28-20 Jesuit win
The Rangers will use their first loss in a positive way to pull of a victory vs. their district opponent that they have never faced.

Irving Nimitz (10/17)
66-35 Rangers win
With a 5-1 start, the Rangers will come into this game confident and ready to claim their third district win in an impressive offensive game.

@WT White (10/24)
48-7 Rangers win
After an impressive win last year against WT White, registering 71 points, the Rangers will keep up the dominance, and pull out their third straight victory.

MacArthur (10/31)
61-51 Rangers win
In this senior night game, the Rangers will prove to, once again, be solid and come out with their 5th district win, putting them in the playoffs.

@Turner (11/07)
63-14 Rangers win
Going in to the final regular season game, the Rangers will close out the season in good fashion and use this win to excel them into the playoffs.

With the excellent coaching staff Jesuit has coupled with the great players, the Rangers have a legitimate shot of winning every game. Be sure to come out and support them during their season!
